Carrot Cheese Crisps

ingredients you need

  • Carrots – The key ingredient in this recipe for chips is carrots. Freshly grated carrots that are naturally sweet and give the chips a brilliant color are required for these chips. Just ensure that the carrots you use are firm enough to grate.
  • Cheese: To add some delicious flavor to these chips, I used fresh parmesan and grated it, but you can use a mix of your preferred types and get even more enriched chips.
  • Seasoning: To season these chips, I used only oregano since I put it everywhere (kinda obsessed xD), but you can mix your favorite ones like a combination of Italian herbs, garlic powder, and chili flakes.
Carrot Cheese Crisps

are these Carrot Cheese Crisps healthy?

These carrot cheese chips are baked rather than fried, so, they provide a healthy substitute for fried treats. No oil or butter is used, only raw carrots and high-quality parmesan.

As part of a diet rich in nutrients, carrots provide a plethora of nutrients, such as antioxidants and beta-carotene, which may promote general health. About 10% of carbohydrates come from simple sugars, fiber, and starch found in carrots. They also have a very low protein and fat content. (1) Parmesan cheese is a high-quality, lactose-free cheese that is strong in calcium and readily digested. (2)

How to make carrot cheese crispies

Step 1: The first step is to prepare carrots for chips, rinse them under running water to remove dirt and residue, and then peel them before grating.

Step 2: Finely grate the carrots and place them in a medium-sized bowl. Finely grate parmesan, and mix it with grated carrots using a spoon. Salt to taste, and sprinkle with desired seasonings. In this step, you can also grate half an apple into the grated mixture. Squeeze out excessive moisture when you grate both carrots and parmesan (and apple if you’re using it). Simply do it with your hands, it’ll be enough.

Important tip: Don’t forget to squeeze out excessive moisture when you grate both carrots and parmesan and apple if you’re using it). Simply do it with your hands, it’ll be enough.

Step 3: Using a small circle-shaped mold or simply with your hands make a small circle out of grated mixture. Flatten it so it can bake thinner like real chips, and place it on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.

Step 4: Place to bake in a preheated oven at 180° Celsius equal to 356°F for 10-15 minutes – until the edges become super golden and even brownish (like over-baked). By baking gradually, burning is avoided and baking is done evenly.

Serve immediately, and enjoy (while it is still warm, much tastier, believe me!)

Flavoring The Carrot Cheese Crisps …

You may add a variety of spices to these chips, even though they taste great with just a dash of salt. Oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, sweet or Cayenne pepper, and any combination of these will taste fantastic to them.

Storage Recommendations

I bet you won’t even need this part of the past because you’ll devour these carrot cheese crispies in a minute! But, let’s talk about the storage recommendations just in case xD.

When stored correctly in an airtight container in a cold, dry area, carrot cheese chips can remain crispy and fresh for up to 2-3 days.

Store the chips at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from heat sources and direct sunlight. To keep the chips crisp, just place a layer of paper towel at the bottom of the container to absorb any extra moisture and keep the chips dry. By doing this easy step, you can keep the chips crispness and keep them from getting mushy.
