Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Naturally Sweetened: This recipe is healthier than many store-bought flavor-infused yogurts because it doesn’t require any extra sugars due to the sweetness of the banana puree.
- Simple – This dish only requires two major ingredients, with two optional additions, making it quick and simple to prepare.
- Versatile: You may eat this banana yogurt by itself or as a foundation for other foods like fruit dips or parfaits.
- Customizable: Change the amount of banana to yogurt to suit your tastes, and add other spices (such cinnamon, cardamom, allspice, vanilla, or nutmeg). You may also add nut butters and seeds.
Ingredients You Need
Yogurt. Greek or normal full-fat plain yogurt works best. Feel free to substitute any plant-based yogurt for the dairy-free option.
Cacao powder. You can use raw, organic cacao powder, but keep in mind that using organic cacao powder may be bitter in taste, but higher in nutritional content, so it is a healthier option. However, cocoa powder will also work well, and give that extra boost in sweetness, if you choose to go with the sweetened option. When I’m using organic cacao powder, I tend to add more honey to balance the sweetness.
Bananas. For maximum natural sweetness, ripe bananas are the ideal choice.
Honey. Use raw, unsweetened honey for the boost of natural sweetness.

Flavor Variations
There are countless ways to experiment and create new flavors with this frozen yogurt made with bananas. Here are some inspirations to get you going.
Peanut Butter. Melted peanut butter can be used as a complete substitute for cacao powder or as an additional ingredient. Add peanut butter for a creamy texture, nutty flavor, and a dose of protein and good fats. You can also try with almond butter, cashew butter, or hazelnut butter.
Berries. You can add chopped berries on top of these Chocolate Frozen Banana Bites or mash them into the filling mixture. They’ll give such a fresh taste when added and served on top!
Tropical: For a tropical twist, replace the frozen banana with chunks of frozen apples, mango, or pineapple.
Add Granola: Fold in a few handfuls of your preferred granola to give the yogurt mixture a little crunch.
